There weren't a lot of physical products that really impressed me during the month of July. I did not do a lot of shopping and really concentrated on using up the products I already had in my collection. I did a lot of purging of my collection. I realized I had become kind of a hoarder and there were items that needed to be thrown out a long time ago. However, there were some standout products this month that I enjoyed using, even though I had been using them for literally months.
Makeup
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
This concealer is phenomenal. This is one of the few under-eye brightening concealers that brightens my dark circles, instead of matching my pale skin tone. The sponge applicator does not look sanitary whatsoever, but it's light, bendable, and medium coverage formulation is worth the it to me.
L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara
Maybe it is because this is the last mascara in my collection, or maybe it is because the mascara is kick ass, but I have been loving this product! I honestly do not know if they even sell it anymore. I found an unopened tube when I threw out all of my old mascara and the rest is history. It elongates your lashes and lasts all day. It is not the best at creating volume and has the tendency to clump if you are not careful.
Real Techniques Brushes
When I first started watching YouTube these brushes were all the rage. Everyone was in love with either the Real Technique or Sigma brushes. I finally justified the cost and allowed myself to purchase a set of six last summer. These are four of my favorites which I like to use (from left to right) for setting my foundation with powder, buffing my liquid foundation, blending my concealer, and applying highlighter to my cheekbones.
Hair
During the month of July I decided to rock pink hair. I dyed the ends of my hair pink at the end of June and have taken a walk on the colorful side ever since. I love it and it has been super fun for summer, but I don't think it will last too long into the fall. I have plans for a new haircut, but that's for a later post ;)
Books
I tend to read a lot more when I am on vacation. I sped through three books when I was in Florida, The Death Cure and The Kill Order, the third book and prequel to the Maze Runner series by James Dashner, as well as reading Losing It by Cora Carmack.
If you like post-apocalyptic books and books about losing your virginity to a beautiful British man, then you should totally check one of these out.
Music
July was a great month for me music-wise. Here are some of the songs I have been loving (and sometimes hate-loving) during July!
Cheerleader by Omi
Worth It by Fifth Harmony
Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd
Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth (feat. Meghan Trainor)
Lean On by Major Lazer & DJ Snake
The Night is Still Young by Nicki Minaj
Apps
Spotify is my jam. Literally. I don't use any other music apps or programs anymore.MyFitnessPal allows me to track my calories & food intake for the day! It's super great for me since I want to become more conscientious of the food I am putting into my body.
